Our History
History and Impact of the European Bangladesh Federation of Commerce and Industry(EBFCI)
The European Bangladesh Federation of Commerce and Industry (EBFCI) was founded in 2008 with the mission to enhance trade, investment, and economic collaboration between Europe and Bangladesh. As a non-governmental, non-profit organisation, EBFCI serves as a vital link between the business communities of both regions, helping to promote mutual understanding and partnership opportunities.
Since its inception, EBFCI has been actively involved in a range of activities aimed at fostering bilateral economic relations. These include organising trade fairs, facilitating business delegations, and conducting seminars and workshops on various aspects of trade and investment. The federation has also played a crucial role in representing the interests of Bangladeshi businesses in European markets, advocating for favorable trade policies, and encouraging European investments in Bangladesh. Notably, EBFCI has coordinated closely with numerous chambers of commerce and industry associations across Europe and Bangladesh, establishing a robust network that supports both large enterprises and SMEs.
Our Impact
EBFCI’s efforts have had a significant impact on improving business conditions and resolving challenges faced by companies operating between Europe and Bangladesh. For SMEs, the federation has provided critical support in overcoming barriers to entry in European markets, such as navigating regulatory complexities and establishing distribution channels.
For larger businesses, EBFCI has been instrumental in facilitating joint ventures and partnerships, leading to increased foreign direct investment in Bangladesh. Furthermore, the federation has contributed to resolving trade disputes and addressing logistical challenges, thereby smoothing the path for more efficient and profitable business operations.
Through its ongoing initiatives, EBFCI continues to play a key role in strengthening the economic ties between Europe and Bangladesh, contributing to sustainable economic growth and development in both regions.
